Stuff Your Turkeys, Not Your Keywords

If you’ve heard the term “keyword stuffing,” but aren’t quite sure what it means, this blog post is for you. In the simplest terms, keyword stuffing refers to writing content with a specific word or phrase in mind that is repeated too often and doesn’t sound natural. Let’s break down why keyword stuffing can be detrimental to your website.

What is Keyword Stuffing?

In SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) terms, keyword stuffing means creating content that has been written specifically for search engine algorithms instead of for human readers. To put it another way, it’s writing content with a specific word or phrase in mind that is repeated too often and doesn’t sound natural.

Here’s an example: “If you are looking for a great place to buy a car, look no further than our car dealership! Our car dealership has the best cars available and we guarantee you won’t find better cars anywhere else. Our car dealership has the best selection of cars in town! Come visit our car dealership today!”

It’s Clever, Though. So Why’s It So Bad?

Keyword stuffing isn’t something that sounds natural to humans. Google’s algorithm is smart enough to recognise when a website or page is trying to game its system by using keywords over and over again—and this will hurt your rankings on search engine result pages (SERPs). This technique might seem like an easy way to increase your SERP rankings but it won’t help in the long run; if anything, it could actually hurt them as Google penalises sites engaging in these tactics. Additionally, when users come across this type of content they’re more likely to leave due to its unnatural feel and lack of value.

When it comes to SEO tactics like keyword stuffing, one thing should be clear—it’s not worth the risk. Not only will keyword stuffing not help your rankings (in some cases it could even hurt them), but it won’t provide any real benefit or value for users which can lead them away from your site altogether. Instead of relying on sneaky tactics like this one, focus on providing quality content and optimising your website naturally so that both users and search engines alike can appreciate what you have to offer. With patience and hard work, you’ll be able to see positive results from your SEO efforts without taking any shortcuts along the way.
